1. HISTORICAL NOTE

            The Archdiocese of Addis Abeba was established by the Apostolic Constitution “Quod Venerabilis” on February 20th, 1961, in place of the Apostolic Exarchate which had been erected on October 31st, 1951, with its first Eparch His Excellency Abune Haile-Mariam Kahsay.

      2.EXTENT:

           The Archdiocese of Addis Abeba comprises all the Amhara Region; North Shewa zone and part of East Shewa zone in Oromiya Region.
